Welcome to MILE HIGH KLEE KAI an Alaskan Klee Kai Kennel in Colorado
Our Kennel is located in the Mile High City – Denver, Colorado. We live in a single family home including a 6-foot wood fence in our backyard, dozens of squirrels to chase and places to dig. Our Klee Kais also enjoy walks in our neighborhood and at the nearby park, City Park where they have their choice of walking on sidewalks, trails, or next to the lake. Although our AKK enjoy their outside time, they are truly part of our family. They hang out in our living room and sleep in our bedroom with us. Usually one Klee Kai on our bed and one under it.
Many people have asked us how we got involved with the Alaskan Klee Kai. So, here’s our story. Erik grew up with dogs in his family and really wanted to add a furry creature to our family. One of Erik’s favorite dogs was the Husky, but I was a little leery of larger dogs. One night Erik was researching huskies on line and came across the “miniature husky” and sent me links for what we would come to know as the Alaskan Klee Kai. At first sight I immediately fell in love with the AKK. Since that day I have had passion for learning more about the Alaskan Klee Kai. Erik and I adopted our first AKK, Little Mr. Max, from Mary Anne Hinkle of ALAKKAWA Kennels in Georgia in July 2007. We adopted our second AKK, Keely, from Debbie Clifton of Heartland Huskies in Nebraska in October 2009.
